Vermilion Valley Resort really caters to hikers

When Ray and I hiked the John Muir Trail two years ago, we camped at the campground at Vermilion Valley Resort. This was after an exciting boat ride across Lake Edison ( see John Muir Trail Day 13: A “Ferry” Tale) . This time we are staying in one of the cabin rooms. Guess we are really going upscale this year! Either way, this is a great place to stay that really caters to hikers. The food is good at the restaurant, they have cabins, a campground, a general store, showers, laundry and hiker boxes. People can just hang out and chat with other hikers.  Such a welcoming environment! Ray and I take advantage of all this and enjoy a day to rest our tired bodies.
